Medicare rate cuts have been
averted, and co-pays will be equalized
Prodded by angry health care
providers, Congress overrode a presidential veto of a
Medicare bill, averting a 10.6% rate cut that officially
went into effect July 1. And as the bill became law, there
are two other pieces of good news for practitioners. |

Are legitimate MCOs
charging for network membership? Over
the years, we’ve run more than a few articles warning
clinicians against this very thing. Typically, an unfamiliar company would
ask for $100 to $200 and promise a rich stream of referrals.
Now, even one client from a panel you're not on can trigger
a request that you pay the MCO a monthly fee.
